The Happy version:
It’s been 6 years since the second Bad Wolf Bay.6 years since she heard the Doctor whisper the words she’d craved for years.5 years, 11 months, 29 days, and 12 hours since Rose and her new Doctor decided that they were going to make this work.5 years, 6 months since they were bonded to each other in a ceremony on the very beach that forced them together, surrounded by the people they hold dearest.5 years since the Doctor remembered the chunk of TARDIS coral that had been stored in his desk drawer. (He’s still just as forgetful).1 day since the new TARDIS finished growing.4 hours since they’d walked on board for the first time, hands clasped and hearts pounding.2 hours since they’d given their new (and very bouncy) bed a test drive.
Once again, Rose lay in a bed on the TARDIS, letting the ship’s familiar hum lull her to sleep. Only this time, it was their TARDIS and the impossibly handsome man whose half-naked body she was curled around was her husband.
The Doctor. In the TARDIS. With Rose Tyler. Just as it should be.——————————————————————————————————
The Angsty version:
There are so many things that Rose loves about travelling with the Doctor. The adventures, the near-misses, and the endless amount of running are among her favorites. But, by far, her favorite thing about travelling with her Doctor is getting to fall asleep with his arms around her. As a rule, Time Lords don’t need much sleep. Before their nightly ritual became a ritual, the Doctor would only sleep every few days. But now, he never lets Rose fall asleep alone. She feels safe in his strong arms and she never sleeps better than when her head is pillowed on his bare chest. Her lullaby has become the gentle hum of the TARDIS and the steady thump-thump, thump-thump of the Doctor’s hearts. These nights are the only time that the Doctor can calm his mind. Feeling this woman, his beautiful Rose, curled up next to him is like a balm for his damaged soul.  Watching and listening to her sleep is his form of meditation. Focusing on her and his all-encompassing love for her helps him heal. He strokes her arm with his thumb as he listens to her breathing become slow and steady. Her breath is warm and damp against his cool skin, reminding him with every breath that his reason for living is human. The pain of that realization is the only thing that can break his calm. Rose wakes up occasionally, sometimes after unsettling dreams. Her question is always the same, How long are you gonna stay with me?  Without fail, he answers, Until the end of the world.
Neither of them could fathom how soon the end of their world would come.
